The Operations Department of the Cedar Rapids Community School District requests your proposal for goods and/or services. for the removal of the existing flooring and installation of a new flooring at Nixon ES as requested by the Cedar Rapids Community School District. Bids will be evaluated promptly after opening. After an award is made, a bid tabulation summary will be sent to all companies who submitted a bid. Bid results will not be given over the telephone or prior to award. Bids may be withdrawn any time prior to the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. Do not include Federal or State Tax in costs submitted. The Operations Department and/or Board of Directors reserve the right to reject any and all proposals or any part thereof, and to waive informalities and to enter into such contracts or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interest of the Cedar Rapids Community School District, in the County of Linn, State of Iowa. No emailed or faxed responses will be accepted Contractors can schedule a pre bid meeting with the Construction Project Specialist prior to bidding the project. Contractor shall verify measurements and quantities provided with this scope of work, all quantities provided are approximate. Remove and dispose of approximately 3,140 SF of existing carpet tile in IMC. Furnish and install approximately 3,140 SF of carpet tile in IMC. Carpet tile shall be Mohawk Group, Side Strip Series, 566 Central. New Johnsonite #40 black 4" vinyl cove base shall be installed in all areas receiving new flooring. Base shall be installed in areas that currently have base. Prepare subsurface to receive new flooring materials by filling in control joins, holes, indentations, etc. with latex cement underlayment compound compatible with flooring adhesives as per manufacturer recommendations. Install flooring and base in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Fit all joints tightly. Roll the floor with a heavy roller to attain full adhesion. Install transition strips where flooring materials change. Protect all school property from damage. Any damage by the contractor shall be reported to the project manager and repairs shall be made immediately at the contractor's expense. Perform necessary cleaning at the end of each day to ensure a clean and safe work area. Flooring installation can be performed anytime between June 5, 2025 and August 1, 2025.
