The Town of Barre is seeking bids for road line painting. The contract includes 69,470 feet of double yellow centre lines, 184,820 feet of white edge lines and 1,300 feet of dashed white line. The Bid Form must be completed with typewriter or in ink. If changes are made, the person who signs the form must initial the changes. Bids, on the town's Bid Form, may be submitted as a PDF attachment to an email sent to bids@barretown.org. Use "Line Painting Bid" on the subject line. Bidders should receive an auto reply from the bids@barretown.org mailbox confirming receipt of the email; however, it is the bidder's responsibility to confirm the Town received the bid and it can be opened and read. The Barre Town Select board reserves the right to waive technicalities and to award the contract that it deems in the best interest of the Town. The Select board reserves the right to change the quantity of work. Award of the contract is expected on Tuesday, April 23; however, bids must be valid for thirty (30) days. Before work starts, the contractor selected for the work must supply a certificate of insurance listing worker's compensation, automobile, and general business liability insurance coverage. The contractor will provide traffic control devices and will be responsible to provide traffic control personnel as necessary. Cones or other similar lane markers shall be used to protect freshly painted lines until dry. Reference is made to the "Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices", Traffic Control in Work Zones. Costs for traffic control, if any, shall be included in the bid for line painting. Night-time work is allowed. Road lines will be applied in conformance with the latest version of the "Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices" (MUTCD) or as closely to the MUTCD as is possible as interpreted by the Town. The lists of roads to be painted is attached. The unit price bid per linear foot shall include the cost of furnishing all of the Labor, equipment, equipment maintenance, and materials necessary to accomplish the described work. Payment will be issued within 17 days of receipt of the invoice, provided work is satisfactory. The contractor must complete all work on or before June 30, 2025. The Town reserves the right to conduct panel tests to verify specified thickness, as well as resistance to bleeding, discoloration, and water disintegration as outlined in AOT Standard Specification Section 708.08.
