Work on this contract consists of an extension of watermain on Island Avenue. Additional Description: Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. Bids shall be on the forms provided for that purpose and according to the Contract Documents prepared by CBS Squared, Inc. identified as "Island Avenue Watermain Extension". Contractors submitting an electronic bid will be charged an additional $45 at the time of bid submission. All prospective bidders must be on the plan holders list through online for bids to be accepted. No proposal will be accepted unless accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to at least 5% of the amount bid, payable to the Owner as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 15 days after the award of the contract. Bidder is required to deliver the original certified check or bid bond within 72 hours of the bid opening to CBS Squared, Inc., ATTN: Kristi Lentz, 770 Technology Way, Suite 1A, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729. The certified check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The City of Cumberland reserves the right to retain the deposits of the three (3) lowest bidders for a period not to exceed 61 days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 61 Days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. Bidders must submit a Bidders Proof of Responsibility in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bidders will be required to provide performance and payment bonds of 100 percent of bid amount.
