Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Redondo Beach, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
Demolition and grading; implementation of BMPs; construction of decomposed granite pathways with related amenities; construction of cobble swales; construction of storm drain inlets and pipes; construction of irrigation system; planting of shrubs and hydroseed; and other work per the Plans and Specifications. The work shall also include all permitting, mobilization, and coordination required to complete the work shown in the contract document. Bidders shall have an active Class "A" or "C-27" license from the Contractor's State License Board, a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience and 5 recently completed similar public works projects, at the time of submitting bid. The project contract shall be completed and facility shall be made ready for service within 75 working days after the Notice to Proceed is issued. Page 24R of 120 is hereby replaced with attached page 24R2 of 120 to add Bid Item #60 and revise the total number of Bid Items to 60. QA The item outside of the Phase 1 limit of work that is required is at the catch basin inlet at the west of Herondo Street. Please note it is up to the discretion of the QSP to verify what is needed and the work associated shall be covered in Bid Item #8. The No Trespassing Signs were removed from the bid form per Addendum #1 Item #2. Bid Item #58 was added to the bid form per Addendum #1 Item #5 to add for the removal of 4 to 5 valve boxes and the related equipment relating to the Irrigation Point of Connection items such as the existing master valve and flow sensor. This line item also includes that the existing controller is to be removed, salvaged, and returned to the City. All other below grade irrigation equipment can be abandoned in place, unless it needs to be removed due to conflict with new equipment. Refer to the the general Irrigation Spec Guidelines 3.09 Backfilling on Sheet L-6.2. Clean Native Soil with no debris or rock larger than 1/2 will be acceptable as backfill for this item. As for the depth, the pipe is varying in depth. Please follow the grading plans, inverts, and slopes provided. Bid Item #60 was added per Addendum #2 Item #1 to cover costs related to the temporary plastic orange web fence for existing trees. The barriers are noted/called out on Sheet EC-0.2 as Details A or C giving the Contractor the choice of which type of barrier they would like to use. The detail states the barrier of sandbags is to be 12 high minimum. The Contractor is responsible for achieving the minimum specification and determining how many they will need. The 2007 irrigation plans are provided to the bidders per Addendum #1 Item #1 as Appendix III and the plans also show the existing irrigation. Confirmed, the sleeves can be either white or purple. For all new proposed 2-wire, a minimum 1 conduit/sleeve is required. If any of the existing conventional wire needs to be resleeved, there will be about 15-17 wires coming home to the controller and will need to have a 2 conduit/sleeve. Refer to the general Irrigation Spec Guidelines 3.09 Backfilling on Sheet L-6.2. Clean Native Soil with no debris or rock larger than 1/2 will be acceptable as backfill for this item. These types of plants are not being utilized and this section specifically mentioning these plants should be disregarded. Please follow the provided Agronomical Soils Report. The TB5 (AB35) shrubs have a typical dimension of 2.38 square x 3.75 deep Contractor to follow the Tree and Shrub Planting Guidelines for General Ornamentals for all container plants (and mass planting) being used and follow the 20% mix noted. When there is a conflict, the Agronomical Soil Report on Sheet L-5.2 will supersede all other amendment specs for bidding. Contractor to follow the Surface Soil Preparation and the Recommendations for California Natives sections of the provided Agronomical Soils Report for the Mass Plantings and Hydroseed areas. Bid Item #25 has been updated per Addendum #1 Item #3 to include the mass planting amendments. Please refer to Bid Items #34 and #35 where shredded mulch is required.
