All proposals and bids are open to the public, subject to the individual rules governing each announcement. Note, preference is not given to contractors who are mailed a bid. The process of identifying and mailing bids is to ensure sufficient competition in the bid process. The City of Durand is currently accepting bids for tree work for the period of July 1, 2025 - June 20 2027. Bid descriptions : No proposal will be accepted after the above closing time. Each proposal must be addressed to Mindy McKay, City Clerk, 215 W Clinton Street, Durand Michigan 48429 with the envelope clearly marked: " 2025 - 2027 Right-of-Way Tree Work ". Daily records documenting the locations and the number of hours worked for trimming/removals and/or number of diameter inches for stump grinding shall be maintained by the contractor and submitted with invoices to the Director of Public Works for payment. Work under this contract shall be for fiscal years 2025/2027 (July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027) and shall commence within sixty (60) days after notification, or as agreed to after award. All work shall be completed in a timely, neat and professional manner. Payment for completed work will be made within 30-days of invoice being approved by the city. Contractor must be available to commence emergency tree work within 24 hours. Emergency work will be limited to abating the hazard. Normal work may be scheduled throughout the year. All trimming/removals on the original list shall be completed within sixty (60) days of commencement. Normal work added after commencement shall be completed within sixty (60) days of commencement or within one (1) month of contractor notification, whichever is later All proposals must be made on this form. Any deviations from the attached specifications, and/or any additional information, must be made by separate letter. Bidder to note on this form if alternate has been included on the bid. Proposals must be signed by Company owner or by duly authorized agent. Submission of bid will be construed as a conclusive presumption that the Contractor is thoroughly familiar with the bid requirements and specifications and that he/she understands and agrees to abide by each and all stipulations and requirements contained therein. The right is reserved by the City of Durand to reject any or all bids, to accept any proposal in whole or in part, or to waive defects or informalities in proposals in the interests of the City. Whenever manufacturers' brand names or numbers are used, they are to be used for reference only. Products of manufacturers other than those mentioned, but of equal quality, may be submitted with full description and specifications. We hereby submit the following bid in accordance with the attached specifications, which is irrevocable for a period of thirty (30) days and binding upon the acceptance of the City of Durand. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a certificate of coverage of contractor's public liability and property damage insurance in the amount of at least $1,000,000 for liability and $1,000,000 for accidental injury. It is the intention of the City of Durand to award this contract to an experienced, qualified contractor. List on the bid form a brief description of the equipment and manpower that will be available to perform this work, along with the names, addresses and telephone numbers of three business references for which you have performed tree-trimming services.
