The Haines Airport Rehabilitation project consists of the reconstruction of the main runway and taxiways, helipad, electrical lighting improvements, drainage improvements, and the construction of a new access road to the helicopter pad. The primary objective of this project is to rehabilitate the runway, taxiway, apron, and helipad surfaces, improve adjacent lighting, eliminate drainage issues, and reroute traffic to the helicopter pad away from private lease holder land. The State of Alaska, Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) owns the existing Airport Right-of-Way (ROW) encompassing the project footprint. Standards for determining adequate cover, vertical and horizontal clearances, horizontal placement and relocation eligibility within the DOT&PF ROW follow the requirements found in Alaska Statute (AS) 02.15.104 and Alaska Administrative Code (AAC) 17 AAC, Chapter 15, and the DOT&PF Preconstruction Manual. Existing utilities impacted by this project may require adjustment or relocation. This Utility Conflict Report (UCR), identifies existing facilities, potential conflicts and alternatives for relocation or adjustment along with their estimated costs.
