DESCRIPTION OF WORK This work includes crack filling that is performed each year on a number of city streets to prevent water from entering the pavement and reduce the spread of cracking. The program includes cleaning and sealing cracks, voids or joints in the street that are two inches (2”) in width or less with either a fiber-reinforced asphalt cement or a rubberized crack filling product. The proposed improvement is officially known as the 2025 Crackfilling Program and will include the application of fiberized crackfilling material. The fiberized crackfilling consists ofcleaning and sealing of any cracks, voids orjoints 2" (50 mm) in width or less with asphalt cement reinforced by polypropylene fibers. The work will be performed on various City streets as indicated in these specifications and as directed by the Engineer. Some of the street locations will require cleaning and sealing the curb-line joint and other locations will have the curb-line joint omitted from the scope of this work. The location list included with this specification will indicate which street locations will require curb-line sealing. This contract shall include all of the necessary labor, equipment, materials and traffic control required to complete this fiberized crackfilling work.
