The City of Council Bluffs Public Works Operations is requesting bids for all work set forth in the plans, specifications, and proposals for this project. BID BOND - In accordance with City ordinance, each bid in excess of $40,000 must be accompanied by cashier's check or bid bond payable to the City of Council Bluffs, Iowa, for a sum not less than 5% of the total amount of the bid. Copies of bid bonds or cashier's checks are to be uploaded in the assigned requested attachments area. Letters of credit and company or personal checks are not acceptable substitutes for a bid bond and would be cause for rejection of bid. The contract term is for one (1) year, approximately May 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026. If it is mutually acceptable, this contract may be renewed for up to three (3), one-year terms. Should the contract be extended, prices paid by the City will receive a 3% price increase from previous year to offset rising material costs. During declared drought periods when grasses are not actively growing, the City reserves the right to direct the Contractor to decrease mowing frequency. Cancellation of a planned mowing event, shall be permitted if determined by the City to be unnecessary or undesirable. BID REJECTION OR PARTIAL ACCEPTANCE - The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or parts thereof. The City further reserves the right to waive technicalities and informalities in bids, as well as to accept in whole or in part such bids where it is deemed advisable in protection of the best interests of the City.
