The specifications that follow are being offered to qualify and select a contractor to provide labor and materials for the construction of a new electrical room at Chesapeake Terrace Elementary School along with upgrading the electrical service and distribution system at Chesapeake Terrace Elementary School. The scope of work consists of, but is not limited to (refer to Bid Document drawings and specifications for more detailed information): 1.1.1 Building a new electrical room addition onto the school. 1.1.2 Replacing the existing utility service to the school from BGE with a 2,000 A, 480Y/277 V, 3-Phase, 4-Wire utility service including a new BGE padmount transformer. 1.1.3 Replacing the existing 120/208V, 3-Phase, 4-Wire Switchboard with a new 277/480 V, 3-phase 4 wire Switchboard. The new switchboard will contain a utility metering section, main circuit breaker section with ground fault protection, surge protection device, energy reduction maintenance switch, owner multifunction digital meter, and distribution sections. 1.1.4 Adding a new 480V-208Y/120V step down transformer to serve a new 1,200 A, 120/208 V Distribution Panelboard MDP2. 1.1.5 Removing existing Distribution Panelboards MDP and MDP1. 1.1.6 Replacing existing 120/208V, 3-phase Branch Panelboards A, B, S, V, W, Y, Z, U, T and EMG. 1.1.7 Replacing the existing Feeders to the new/replacement panelboards identified in 1.1.6. 1.1.8 Adding a Quick-Connect Generator Switchboard for connection to a future MEMA portable generator and be connected to the new Switchboard.
