This project shall consist of the Contractor providing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, insurance, etc., necessary to replace the existing sidewalks at North Point State Park at 8400 North Point Rd, Edgemere, MD 21219 in Baltimore County. 2. The proposed project shall include but is not limited to the following: a. Submit a new concrete joint panels section plan for all new sidewalk areas to be approved by the DNR Project Engineer before installation. The new sidewalk path and sections shall conform to the same dimensions and shapes of the existing sidewalk. b. Remove approximately 12,000 Square Feet of existing concrete sidewalk down to the gravel base. c. Properly prepare 13,100 Square Feet of the existing path to receive new concrete walkway (12,000 Square Feet of replacement sidewalk and an additional 1,100 Square Feet of new sidewalk). i. Properly excavate as needed to install 4" of #57 gravel fill over compacted subgrade for the 12,000 Square Feet of replacement sidewalk locations. The Contractor may re-use any existing gravel fill that can properly be re-used. Cut back any tree roots that will impact the proper installation of new sidewalk. #57 gravel fill material shall be calculated under Unit Price # 1. New sidewalk shall be at the same elevations as the existing sidewalk. ii. Excavate and install 4" of #57 gravel fill under compacted subgrade as per Drawing # 1 for the 1,100 Square Feet of additional new sidewalk locations. #57 gravel fill material shall be calculated under Unit Price # 1. New sidewalk shall be at the same elevations to match the elevations of adjoining and transitioned sidewalk levels. d. Install 13,100 Square Feet of new sidewalk 5" deep to comply with the approved concrete joint sections with 6x6 WWF reinforcement according to the manufacturers written instructions and applicable building codes. See Drawing #1. i. New sidewalks shall be as level as possible and cannot have slopes steeper than 1:20, or 5%, and the cross slope must be less than 1:48. ii. Concrete joints shall be installed with expansion joint filler iii. New walkways shall be properly tied into existing transitions of existing sidewalks and should be properly sealed against any vertical masonry transitions (fountain/Trolly Station Pad, etc). iv. New concrete sections shall be installed with a minimum 1% slope to drain water, Water shall not pool on top of new concrete sections. v. Concrete surfaces shall be a level, hard toweled, smooth-finish. Concrete placement, finishing and curing shall be in accordance with industry standards. vi. Formwork is to be removed when concrete is green in order to fill voids and beeholes in the "vertical" formed concrete work and to finish with a uniform, smooth-toweled finish. e. Finish grade all areas of disturbance, to include seeding and strawing. f. Properly dispose of construction debris from the job site and leave it in a pre-construction condition.
