Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, bank cashier's check, or properly certified check in the amount of twelve thousand five hundred dollars ($12,500.00). A Contract Bond in the total amount of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the Owner will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. Project Description: The Project consists of the installation of approximately ninety one (91) lineal feet of 10-inch diameter sanitary sewer pipe, one thousand nine hundred (1,900) lineal feet of 8-inch diameter sanitary sewer pipe, nine (9) manholes, demolition of an existing wastewater pumping station, excavation, backfill, and surface restoration, as well as other incidental activities and improvements. The majority of the sanitary sewer pipe will be installed via horizontal directional drilling methods. The Contractor shall be required to provide certificates of insurance as indicated in the documents. The Contractor will be required to comply with all Federal, State and Municipal laws and regulations, including those related to discrimination, prevailing wage, safety, bidrigging, human rights, preferential employment of Illinois labor and equal opportunity employment. The Village of Mahomet reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any formalities or inconsistencies in the bids, to reduce the scope of work to accommodate the project budget, to accept any proposals which it deems most favorable, or to continue the letting from time to time as deemed in the best interest of the Owner. Bids may be held by the Village of Mahomet for a period not to exceed forty five (45) days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding the contract.
