DESCRIPTION: This is a design project for connecting to a municipality water and sewer. The vendor shall provide all labor and materials necessary to complete the work in a professional manner according to scope of work. Work is to be completed within 60 days of award, unless modified below. This is a NYS Public Works project, and prevailing wages are to be paid. SCOPE OF WORK includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following: o All prospective bidders must be registered with the Department of Labor. Bids submitted by nonregistered vendors will not be accepted. o Contact Clifton Park Water Authority and Clifton Park Sewer Dept. to determine local requirements for connection. o A land survey is required. o A site visit to measure and survey exact locations and distances required to meet the service connections is needed. o Evaluate existing grinder pump and tank system if it can be tied into the municipal sewer system. o Determine if a grinder pump upgrade is necessary due to slope and elevation of property. o Isolation and termination valves may be needed for the sewer lines. o The designs will include plans for disconnection and abandon/removal of existing septic and well infrastructure. o Details for the removal the existing water treatment system. This system is to be saved. o Details for the penetrations through the foundation wall for the sewer, water, and possible electrical wiring is required. o Details for the removal and/or installation of wiring. o Details for the new connections from the municipal sewer and water services to the house. o Water pressure at the municipal water main supply is to be tested to confirm PSI. o Vendor will be responsible for contacting the town/village for any permits and fees required for the install of the new water service. This is to be in the notes on the design. o Design will include the type of water meter preferred by the town/village. o Designs must follow all current NYS building, plumbing, electrical codes for 2020. o Any electrical circuits must follow current NEC codes. o Noted in the designs, the vendor will need a 3rd party electrical inspection, all fees are the responsibility of the vendor doing the install. o A Dig Safe reminder note will be included. o A cost estimate is required. o The designer will be available for any questions or changes during the construction phase. Any cost for these changes will be part of the designer's cost and will not be billable hours o Designer will submit 30%, 60%, and 95 % design for approval. o Work will be considered complete upon review and acceptance of PE Stamped drawings by OPWDD Point of Contact and OPWDD Engineer. o 3 stamped hard copies and a PDF of the designs are required.
