As of May 30, 2025, this project is in the schematic design phase. It will not move forward until funding is secured on the November 2026 ballot. A timeline for construction has not been determined. *Previous solicitation listed below for reference:* Pursuant to RCW 39.80, the City of Shoreline, Washington (City) is soliciting a Statement of Qualification (SOQ) from firms or individuals interested in providing architect, landscape architect, and engineer teams to provide site planning, concept design, and schematic design services for a possible new Shoreline Pool Facility of approximately 35,000 to 48,000 square feet to be located in the City of Shoreline. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. The project budget for the full design and construction of the facility is estimated to be up to $100 million (2026 dollars) which includes $17 million for land purchase. The consultant should propose efficiencies in designs and operations to help the City be a good steward of public dollars. In March 2024, the City Council directed staff to explore designing a new pool-only facility. The new facility would just focus on a lap pool and warmer water recreation spaces and would be smaller in overall size than the facility proposed in 2019. City staff will bring cost and design information and community input to the City Council in early 2026 at which time the Council will use the information to decide whether to place a measure on the November 2026 ballot for voters to decide on.
