City Commission of the City of Pembroke Pines is seeking sealed proposals for: IFB # PSPW-25-04 New Playground Turf for the East Campus Charter School The City of Pembroke Pines is seeking bids from qualified firms, hereinafter referred to as the Contractor, to remove the mulch play field and install high traffic artificial playground turf in its place at Charter School located at 10801 Pembroke Rd, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in this solicitation. Installing high-traffic artificial playground turf at the charter school enhances safety with a cushioned, slip resistant surface that reduces injuries while providing a durable, all weather play area that remains green and accessible year round. Scope of Work Contractor is responsible for the following: All documents, plans and submittals required to obtain a permit are to be provided by the contractor Removing all existing grass, dirt, and other necessary material in the play field area. All material must be removed at least 4 inches below ground level. Sprinkler lines/equipment in the play field area must also be removed, capped, and/or rerouted as necessary. Grading play field and drain effectively to the existing basin. No water retention or ponding within play field will be accepted. Laser-grading the compacted stone base to maintain a tolerance of 1/4" within any 10' radius. Setting the field slope at min 0.5% from the center crown to the side terminations. Installing 4" nominal compacted stone base limestone (#57) with 1" of finish limestone (#89). Installing a 6 inch by 6 inch concrete edge between the artificial turf field and existing fence around the perimeter of the play field area. The contractor shall be solely responsible for verifying all existing dimensions, quantities, and job site conditions prior to submitting their bid. The contractor is responsible for acquiring all necessary permits and ensuring manufacturer and contractor warranties and certifications are provided. Turf Specifications Contractors shall install GoGreen Aquamaxx (or approved equal) Turf shall meet the following specifications: American made Endure high foot traffic Drainage backing system shall drain at 85 in/hr Pile height: 1" Color options: sport green, apple green, olive green or similar Yarn type: polyethylene Weight: 50 OZ/SY UV protected Lead free Site Access Facility Access and Construction Protocols Access to the site requires supervision by City staff at all times. This is a secure area that is locked at all times, including both entry and exit. Checking into the site is required daily. Any use of existing parking areas shall be requested in advance. Contractors are required to coordinate all work with the Project Manager prior to scheduling. Work must be conducted Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 5 pm, unless otherwise approved by the Project Manager (PM), to avoid disruption to ongoing operations at the facility. The contractor is responsible for ensuring that all debris is removed and that any areas affected during construction are restored to their original or improved condition. Site must be maintained clean and must be left clean at the end of each work day. Appropriate precautions must be implemented to guarantee the safety of individuals and structures on the site. Estimated Project Cost 95,000 Liquidated damages for this project shall be FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS AND NO CENTS ($500.00) per day. In the event that the awarded contract, not including owner's contingency, exceeds $200,000, two (2) separate bonds (Payment & Performance Bonds) are required, and both must be approved by the City.
