Renovation of a mixed-use development in Storrs Mansfield, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

To upgrade the HVAC with the addition of new equipment servicing the Third Floor Corridor and Classrooms, the Large Gymnasium and the Small Gymnasium. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services ("DAS") under the provisions of CONN. GEN. STAT. 4a-60g. (25% of the total state-funded value with DAS-certified Small Businesses and 6.25% of the total state-funded value with DAS-certified Minority-, Women-, and/or Disabled-owned Businesses.) The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. If any bidder contemplating submitting a proposal is in doubt as to the true meaning of any part of these specifications, he may submit requests for information and/or clarification in writing via e-mail to maintenance@mansfieldct.org by March 27, 2025 at noon Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurers or cashiers check payable to the Owner, issued by a responsible bank or trust company, is required in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid. In the event that the successful bidder refuses, fails, or is otherwise unable to enter into a contract for the work with the Owner or is otherwise in default of its bid, the amount of such bid deposit shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages on account of such default. The selected Contractor shall furnish a performance bond and payment bond in the amount of at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Attorneys-in-fact who sign contract bonds must file, with each bond, a certified and effectively dated copy of their power of attorney. Certificates of Insurance are required and must be furnished by the Contractor prior to any work being performed The Town of Mansfield reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids; to waive any informality; or to accept any bid deemed in the best interests of the Town of Mansfield. All bids shall be considered valid for a period of ninety (90) days.
