Questions concerning this invitation for proposals must be submitted in writing to: Procurement Department, Westwood Town Hall, 580 High Street, Westwood MA 02090 or by email at Procurement@townhall.westwood.ma.us. Questions may be delivered or mailed. Written responses will be mailed, emailed, or posted on the Westwood Town Hall website to all bidders on record as having picked up the IFB. LOCATION: Downey School 250 Downey St Westwood, MA LOCATION: Morrison Park472 East St Westwood, MA Any and/or all work is subject to available funds. The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities in, or to reject, any or all bids should the Town deem it to be in the Town's best interest to do so. The Town of Westwood may cancel this IFB, or reject in whole or in part any and all proposals, if the Town determines that cancellation or rejection serves the best interests of the Town. Work may not start earlier than June 2, 2025. All courts must be complete and returned to play condition by June 30, 2025. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a certified, bank, Treasurer's or cashier's check, or a bid bond issued by a surety company licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, in the amount of (5%) if the total bid price, made payable to the Town of Westwood. The bidder to whom the bid is awarded will be required to submit a payment bond in the amount of at least 50% of the contract price. 1 bituminous concrete all-weather Basketball Court Furnish all labor, material, and equipment to resurface one (1) all-weather basketball court as outlined below: 1. Open approximately 20 LF of fencing. 2. Mill approximately 2" of asphalt. 3. Sweep the excess millings. 4. Furnish, spread and roll approximately 2" of hot bituminous concrete after compaction. 5. Sweep and air clean surface. 6. Apply two (2) coats of acrylic resurfacer by Latexite mixed with 5-10 pounds of 50-60 mesh silica sand per gallon of resurfacer and applied at a rate of .07 to .10 gallon per square yard. 7. Apply one (1) coat of acrylic textured surface by Latexite at a rate of approximately .05 gallon/SY per coat. 8. Apply one (1) coat of acrylic finish by Latexite at a rate of approximately .05 gallon/SY per coat. 9. Layout, mask and stripe playing lines for one (1) basketball court with a paintbrush using 100% acrylic textured line paint. 10. Close the fence. 11. All personnel assigned to this contract must have an approved Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) before the contract commencement. The contractor is responsible for ensuring any personnel working on school property have an approved CORI. 12. Bidders must provide at least three (3) references which include point of contact and phone number for provision of similar work. Experience must include this type of work. 13. The manufacturer shall guarantee the material for one year from date of finished application against chalking, checking, fading, discoloration, or other adverse effects from ultraviolet rays of the sun; from weather moisture, or from weather temperatures. The Contractor and the manufacturer shall provide jointly such written assurances as are satisfactory to the Owner's Representative that their materials and application will provide this performance. 14. Unloading and temporary storage sites, and transfer routes, must be approved in advance by the OWNER. 2 bituminous concrete all-weather Tennis Courts Furnish all labor, material, and equipment to resurface two (2) all-weather tennis courts as outlined below: 1. Open approximately 20 LF of fencing. 2. Mill approximately 2" of asphalt. 3. Sweep the excess millings. 4. Furnish, spread and roll approximately 2" of hot bituminous concrete after compaction. 5. Install two (2) new center anchors. 6. Sweep and air clean surface. 7. Apply two (2) coats of acrylic resurfacer by Latexite mixed with 5-10 pounds of 50-60 mesh silica sand per gallon of resurfacer and applied at a rate of .07 to .10 gallon per square yard. 8. Apply one (1) coat of acrylic textured surface by Latexite at a rate of approximately .05 gallon/SY per coat. 9. Apply one (1) coat of acrylic finish by Latexite at a rate of approximately .05 gallon/SY per coat. 10. Layout, mask and stripe playing lines for two (2) tennis courts and four (4) pickle ball courts to match existing tennis and pickleball layout with a paintbrush using 100% acrylic textured line paint. 11. Close the fence. 12. Loam and seed disturbed area. 13. All personnel assigned to this contract must have an approved Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) before the contract commencement. The contractor is responsible for ensuring any personnel working on school property have an approved CORI. 14. Bidders must provide at least three (3) references which include point of contact and phone number for provision of similar work. Experience must include this type of work. 15. The manufacturer shall guarantee the material for one year from date of finished application against chalking, checking, fading, discoloration, or other adverse effects from ultraviolet rays of the sun; from weather moisture, or from weather temperatures.
