All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the Town of Adams Highway Crew Director, Dick Buhalog, at the Town Hall. The envelope should clearly display the project number on the front and be addressed to The Town of Adams Chair. Wedging 9th Ave. starting at new pavement north of Deerborn north to C.R. “J”. . Scope of Work: The work under this contract shall consist of wedging and paving 2 inches of hot mix asphalt at a width of at least 3+/- feet on both sides of 9th Ave , and placing 2 foot shoulders with ¾ inch CABC rolled and compacted. 2. Hot Mix Asphaltic Pavement: The hot mix shall be Wisconsin DOT approved 4 LT 5828S Mix design. Mix will be placed with a paver and rolled for compaction. Mix will be placed at a compacted thickness of 2 inches and width of at least 3+/- feet on each side of the road. Each driveway shall have a minimum 18” asphalt apron. 3. Preparation: Prior to the application of the bituminous mix, the existing pavement shall be cleaned of all dust, other loose material, silt spots, vegetation and other deleterious materials utilizing a power broom. Any deleterious material not removed by mechanical sweeping shall be removed by hand. Particular care shall be taken to thoroughly clean the outer edges of the area to be wedged. The contractor shall be responsible for removal of all deleterious material. After cleaning and prior to wedging, a tack coat of a 50% diluted asphalt emulsion type CSS-1, CSS-1h, SS-1 or SS-1h shall be applied to the surface at a nominal rate of 0.025 gallons per square yard.
