Non-Professional Services for Inspections of District 2-0 Bridges - Contract B . Equipment covered. This Standard applies to mobile units capable of positioning a platform alongside or beneath a bridge deck or equivalent structure while being supported from such structure and are used to position personnel, along with their necessary tools and materials, at work locations. Typical examples of this type of equipment are shown in Figure 1 on page 48. The Contractor is to be made aware that this contract could apply to any NBIS Bridge Inspection work completed with PennDOT District 2-0 through December 2025. The Engineer reserves the right to withhold payment otherwise due to the Contractor without payment of interest on account of faulty or defective work, the filing of claims or evidence indicating possible filing of claims against the Engineer for the work, or failure of the Contractor to pay amounts due for labor or material used by the Contractor in doing the work or amounts due to the Contractor's subcontractors in the work. If and when the cause for withholding payment is removed or remedied by the Contractor and satisfactory evidence of such remedy or removal is furnished to the Engineer, payments withheld shall be made to the Contractor. In the event such cause is not remedied or removed within 30 days after notice by the Engineer to the Contractor, the Engineer has the right, but not the duty, to remedy or remove the cause and may deduct the cost thereof from the payment to the Contractor. Should the cost exceed the balance due to the Contractor, the Contractor shall be solely responsible for said excess.
