Project consists of construction of roadway and bridge improvements that will be installed following the current SCDOT standard specifications and details. Proposed construction includes the clearing, grubbing and grading of approximately 23.5 acres, 1.75 linear miles of variable-lane parkway, 146 linear feet of four-lane divided bridge, installation of 36" water main, relocation and abandonment of an existing 36" water main, stormwater infrastructure and incidental construction. This work consists of the internal design, furnishing materials, and constructing Prefabricated Concrete Modular Walls in accordance with this SPECIAL PROVISION, the Wall Manufacturer's recommendations, and in conformance with the lines, grades, designs and dimensions shown in the Plans. 2.2. Use Prefabricated Concrete Modular Wall Systems that meet the criteria as defined in AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, Section 11.11. Wall systems in the Precast Semi-Gravity (i.e., cantilever, counterfort or buttress), MSE (i.e., panel or block), or Modular (i.e., gabion, crib or bin) categories do not meet these requirements. 2.3. The Prefabricated Wall systems includes the wall foundation, prefabricated concrete modular wall units and infill materials. 2.3.1. The wall foundation includes areas underlying the leveling pad and the drainage blanket(leveling stone). 2.3.2. The prefabricated concrete modular wall units are comprised of "wet cast" concrete modular retaining wall units used to construct a gravity earth wall system. 2.3.3. The wall infill is the material placed after the placement of the prefabricated concrete modular wall units.
