Site work for a water / sewer project in Hardeeville, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The purpose of this Project is to construct new granular activated carbon (GAC) treatment facilities at both the Purrysburg and Chelsea WTPs to remove these compounds. In addition to new GAC contactor basins, the Project will require modification and/or new construction of yard piping, transfer pump stations, and other facilities to convey water to/from the new contactors, provide backwash water to periodically clean the GAC media, and manage backwash wastewater. Additional civil/site, electrical, and instrumentation and control improvements will be required. The new and modified facilities will need to be constructed while maintaining operation of the existing plants. Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) delivery method for the construction of Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) infrastructure at the Purrysburg and Chelsea Water Treatment Plants. This will include one CMAR for both projects but under two separate contracts. The work will be treated as two separate projects due to individual budgets for each of the facilities. The CMAR will be expected to provide design review on selected items, pre-construction services, open-book construction cost estimating, construction services, and commissioning for each of the projects.
