The work includes the demolition of the condemned structure, proper handling and disposal of asbestos-containing materials, and site restoration in accordance with all applicable regulations. This project is federally funded through a USEPA Revolving Loan Fund Grant and is subject to the Davis- Bacon Act (DBRA), Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act, and New York State prevailing wage laws. Complete controlled demolition of the three-story, 24,584 sq. ft. former Newport School. Segregation and staging of non-ACM materials for possible recycling. Asbestos abatement in compliance with NYS DOL Industrial Code Rule 56. Transport and disposal of waste, including ACM and non-ACM materials. Implementation of erosion and sediment controls at site limits. Protection of drainage connections and easements. Restoration of disturbed areas (excluding slab removal). Important: This bid covers demolition only. Waste removal and debris disposal will be addressed under a separate contract.
