The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako (the Regional District) is requesting quotes for the construction and installation of an accessible outhouse at the Regional District's Trout Creek Park, approximately 22 kilometers northwest of Smithers, British Columbia. It is a frequently used recreation site and the need for an outhouse facility has been identified. The successful proponent will supply, deliver, install and construct all required components of the outhouse. The outhouse is proposed to be a single user, wheelchair accessible vault toilet, with a sealed container buried in the ground enclosed by a concrete pit toilet building, similar in form and function to the outhouses located on provincial highway rest stops. The Regional District's preference is for a premanufactured concrete building. The project includes the following tasks: Site visit with Regional District staff to start project. Evaluating if gravel driveway base needs improvement to accommodate construction traffic and septage truck. If required, improvement of gravel driveway base. Clearing brush from site. Grading of site. Excavation to accommodate the length and width of the concrete vault and for the installation of washroom building. Installation of the concrete vault. Installation and construction of the outhouse structure as per as per manufacturer recommendations. Installation of toilet pedestal with flange and accessories. Backfill crush and/or sand (as needed for the backfill around the washroom). All filling materials should be compacted, including compaction of excavated subgrade. Ensure areas directly surrounding the outhouse are clear of obstructions and graded. Clean site. Topsoil and seed all disturbed areas.
