The general scope of the work includes but is not limited to: It is the contractor's responsibility to be familiar with and supply competent labor with the ability to maintain, install and/or renovate a list of electrical equipment. In accordance with Code of Alabama, 39-2-2(a), prequalification is required. The University of South Alabama invites your company to bid on hourly labor rates for Electrical Services on the campus. The terms of this contract shall be for one (1) year after award of contract. Additionally, the contract can be extended if mutually agreed by both parties on an annual basis allowing for inflation of the contract's current rates based upon the Consumer Price Index for inflationary increases not to exceed 2.5%. Only bids from pre-approved licensed contractors with top quality skilled workmen, a wide variety of dependable equipment in good working order, and prior acceptable work experience at the University of South Alabama will be accepted and reviewed. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to the University of South Alabama in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000 must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds will be required at the signing of the contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgement, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
