Miami-Dade County is soliciting interested contractors to register to participate and perform in Miscellaneous Construction Contract (MCC) Bids under the MCC 7040 & 7360 Plan projects. Contractual Opportunities are continuously available for all businesses located in Miami Dade who are interested in doing business with the County. The types of contracts available under the MCC Program are construction projects, facility repairs, neighborhood improvements, emergency repairs and maintenance work with a maximum value of $5.0M; ; ORD 09-101. All capital departments are participating. Additional opportunities are available through Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) which enables low-income families to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. Funds are used to improve the energy performance of dwellings by families in need, using the most advanced technologies and testing procedures available in the housing industry. Measures to make homes more energy efficient include: replacement or installation of key components, installation of energy recovery ventilation systems including bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans and installation of whole mechanical exhaust systems to provide better indoor air quality, install attic insulation, install window solar films, repair or replace inefficient cooling units, repair or replace water heaters and address air infiltration with weather stripping, caulking thresholds, minor wall repairs, ceiling and floors, windows and doors. License Requirements - At the time of Bid and pursuant to the requirements of Section 10-3 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida and Request for Price Quotation (RPQ) and Contract Documents, the Bidder and all its subcontractor must hold a valid, current, and active State and/or Miami-Dade County contractor's license consistent with the requirements of the Scope of Work. ESTIMATED COST: $1,009,571.43. LICENSE REQUIREMENT: General Engineering; Pipelines Engineering Contractor, General Building Contractor, Underground Electrical & Communication Conduits SCOPE OF WORK The project consists of furnishing all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to upgrade Sewage Pump Station No. 0686, including, but not limited to, providing uninterrupted by-pass pumping capabilities for the existing pump station flow during all construction times and until the new pump station is completely operational and accepted by the Owner, demolition of portion of on-site existing force mains; demolition of portion of the existing dry/wet well pump station structure including, but not limited to the following: the existing dry/wet well, pumping equipment and appurtenances, piping and fittings, conduits, and all other items deemed necessary to be removed; site preparation, clearing and grubbing as necessary; furnishing and installing new valve vault structure including concrete top slab and access hatch; furnishing and installing new concrete top slab with access hatch for existing wet well structure; furnishing and installing new submersible pumps and related equipment; all pipe, fittings and appurtenances for the new pump station and valve vault including emergency pump out piping connection; furnishing and installing new control panel, electrical service with main disconnect, motor connection box and including concrete slabs and mounting structures; coordination with FPL and connection of the new service to the proposed pump station; installation of concrete sidewalk to replace existing sidewalk; site restoration; start up and testing; and other appurtenant and miscellaneous items and work for a complete, satisfactory, and functional installation. Pumping Station 0686 is located at 7900 SW 40th Street, Miami-Dade County Florida in Section 22, Township 54 South, Range 40 East, Miami-Dade County, Florida 33155. The new 8-inch ductile iron discharge force main piping will connect to the existing 10-inch ductile iron force main which terminates in the sidewalk in the right-of-way adjacent to the existing pump station. The project scope includes furnishing all labor, material and equipment including, but not limited to, furnishing and installing 8-inch ductile iron pipe, valves and fittings for sewage force main. constructing automatic air release valve assembly (if required); making a connection to the existing 8-inch force main; perform maintenance of traffic (as required); temporary and permanent paving repairs (as required; re-installation of sidewalk; restoration of existing sodding and landscaping together with all other miscellaneous and appurtenant items and work for a complete, functional and satisfactory installation. The Department reserves the right to issue the Notice to Proceed (NTP) to the Contractor at any time after the Award Letter has been issued. Upon commencement of construction the Contractor shall coordinate with the Department for the removal and salvaging of certain parts within the RTU enclosure. The Contractor shall install conduit and wiring to the new RTU enclosure as required. The Department will re-install parts within the new RTU and enclosure as required. The Department will make all wiring terminations in the RTU enclosure. It is the intent of the Department to obtain a complete functional, and satisfactory installation under this Contract, and any items of labor, equipment or materials which may reasonably be assumed as necessary to accomplish this end shall be supplied whether or not they are specifically shown on the Plans or stated herein. The original Bid bond Security (in the form of a bid bond or cashier's check) MUST be delivered to WASD, at the address above, BEFORE the bids are opened. Failure to deliver the original will result in the bid submission being rejected as non-responsive. Invited bidders should have received an Invitation to Bid with an Invitation Key linked to the Invitee's email address. Upon request, an invitation can be sent to multiple email addresses within the same company. However, if multiple bids are submitted by the same company, ALL submitted bids will be rejected. The bid set includes electronic bid instructions. Training on electronic bid submission is available every Monday from 9 - 10 and every Wednesday from 1 - 2. RFI'S: The RFI cut-off date is five (5) business days prior to the bid due date. Liquidated Damages - $1,000.00 per day. The contractor must include in their bid package the following documents: 1. Appendix 5A, 2. COA Form (Only if project has Goods & Services goals) 3. Quotation Forms Pages, 4. Addendums, 5. Bid Bond - Note: A Bid Bond will be required only if the bid meets or exceeds $200K. In addition, a Performance and Payment Bond with additional insurance will be required once bid is Awarded and bid meets or exceeds $200K. Contractor must refer to the Request for Price Quotation (RPQ) and associated project documents for the detail Scope of Work.
