Repair and maintenance of water well #11. Question Deadline 04/08/2025 All detailed questions concerning the actual bid specifications must be submitted in writing via the bid posting on website no less than five (5) business days prior to the scheduled bid opening date. The services shall include the maintenance, repair, replacement, and rehabilitation of Well #11 as outlined below: Existing Equipment Removal - The contractor shall pull existing pump equipment and perform field inspection of all equipment. A detailed report shall be submitted to the City outlining necessary repairs and costs. Repair work will not be authorized until the contractor submits a written price proposal. Televising - The Contractor shall conduct a TV Survey to verify the well construction and determine static water level and total depth. The well recording shall be reviewed with the City, and recommendations will be assessed to determine if additional well rehab or repair work is required. The City may request a second TV survey. Two DVD recordings of the TV Survey shall be provided to the City for permanent record. Replacement of Existing Pump - The existing pump shall be replaced with a new pump of same manufacture/type. Motor Replacement - The existing motor shall be replaced with a new motor of same manufacture/type. Cable Replacement - The electrical motor cable shall replaced with new cable ofsame specifications as existing submersible stranded copper type size #4 with ground wire size #8. Existing cable shall remain on site and remain property of the owner. Cable Testing - During the installation of the pump and motor, the Contractor shall measure and record insulation values of the cable and motor for continuity and insulation values to ground using a 500-1,000 volt meg-ohmmeter with 2 readings being taken and recorded during installation and one at the final setting. Bail of Fill/Well Brushing - The contractor shall bail fill from bottom of the well or brush casing/screen if required (estimated 10 hours on price sheet, but paid per hour as required). Evacuated material should be collected above ground and disposed of by the contractor in accordance to local and state regulations. Re-install Permanent Pumping Equipment - Prior to reinstalling equipment into the well, the contractor must disinfect all equipment and column pipe inside and out with a chlorine solution to ensure disinfection of equipment. Following all necessary repairs and modifications, the pump shall be reinstalled to a setting depth as specified. A stainless steel cable guard shall be installed to enclose the flat cable over the length of the bowl assembly and it shall be banded to the bowl assembly with stainless steel banding at 2' intervals. The round cable shall be padded and banded with 3/4" stainless steel banding to the column pipe at approximate 10' intervals and the Contractor shall provide and install cable guards located and attached to each column pipe coupling to protect the cable during installation. Pumping equipment shall be reinstalled with TWO new air lines and stainless steel banding. A Level transducer and cable w/housing shall be supplied by the Contractor and installed in PVC pipe by the contractor at no additional cost to this contract. The PVC pipe shall be banded and protected with airlines up entire column pipe. API modified thread compound shall be applied to the coupling threads as the pipe joints are made up. All wrench marks and any other exposed pipe shall be touched up with a protective coating as the column pipe is being installed.
