**As of June 5,2025, the project was awarded to Ruiz Concrete and Paving Inc., with an awarded amount of $270,787.50.** City ofDowney is seeking bids for performing all work necessary and incidental to the completion of Capital Improvement Project No. 25-01 FY 2024/25 Annual Miscellaneous Concrete Repairs (Council District 2), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Miscellaneous Improvements (Citywide). This includes removal and reconstruction ofPCC curb, gutter, sidewalk, driveways, and ADA curb ramps; removal and reconstruction ofAC paveouts and driveway transitions; clearing, grading, excavation, and tree root removals; backfilling, re-grading, restoration ofparkways and areas disturbed by the construction; reseeding and/or planting sod turf, and all appurtenant work thereto necessary for the proper construction ofthe contemplated improvements in accordance with Plans and Specifications entitled Capital Improvement Project No. 25-01. The City intends to issue a Notice to Proceed (NTP) 15 working days after the award of contract, which is scheduled for May 13, 2025. Work must commence by May 27, 2025. Each bid shall be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashiers check or by a corporate surety bond issued by a surety company, admitted to do business in the State ofCalifornia, on the form furnished by the City as guarantee that bidder will, if an award is made to him in accordance with the terms ofhis bid, promptly secure Workers Compensation insurance, and liability insurance, execute a contract in the required form, and furnish satisfactory bonds for the faithful performance of the Contract (Performance Bond) and for the payment of claims ofmaterialmen and laborers thereunder (Payment Bond). Said cash, check or bidders bond shall be in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) ofthe amount ofthe bid. The Performance and Payment Bond shall be not less than one hundred percent (100%) ofthe total amount ofthe bid price named in the contract. The City ofDowney reserves the right, after opening bids, to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid received, and to be the sole judge ofthe merits ofthe respective bids received. The award ofthe Contract, ifit is awarded, will be to the lowest responsible Bidder whose bid complies with all the requirements prescribed. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The work to be performed under this Contract generally consists of construction and repair of miscellaneous concrete improvements at various locations. The Contractor will furnish all transportation, materials, equipment, time, labor and supplies for the improvements, together with the appurtenant work necessary or incidental to complete, in a workmanlike manner, the improvements as contemplated and as intended by the Plans and Specifications.
