The Town of Windsor is requesting proposals from qualified contractors for professional services for Wildfire Hazard Mitigation. General Work Description: All of the work to be performed is within the Town of Windsor and generally consists of brush and debris removal, tree removal as needed, and ladder fuel management, in addition to consultation with and monitoring by a certified arborist. The Town is traversed by several creeks that flow in the southwest direction to Mark West Creek, a tributary of the Russian River. The project area contains five areas per attached Town of Windsor - Mitigation Corridor Locations Exhibit. The Arborist's Estimate for this work is $350,000 Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check payable to the Town of Windsor or a satisfactory bidder's bond in favor of the Town of Windsor executed by the bidder as principal, and a satisfactory surety company, licensed as such in the State of California, as surety, in an amount not less than 10% of the maximum amount of the bid. The check or bidder's bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder shall execute the contract, if awarded to him, in conformity with the contract documents and shall provide the statutory faithful performance bond, and labor and materials (payment) bond for 100% of the contract price, conditioned upon the faithful performance of said contract, said bonds to be provided within ten (10) days, not including Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays, after notification of the award of the contract to the bidder. The Contractor shall possess a State of California C49 if effective as of the date of the contract execution, otherwise C61-D49 is required at the time bids are received by the Town and throughout the execution of the contract. The Contractor shall have a certified arborist on staff at the time bids are received by the Town and throughout the execution of the contract. Bids are required for the entire work described herein. This contract is subject to State contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990. The Windsor Town Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to determine which proposal is the lowest bid of a responsible bidder. The Windsor Town Council also reserves the right to waive any nonconformity not material to the cost of performance in the said proposals or bids.
