The City of Rocky Mount is seeking 10% minority business participation on this project. Proposals must be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to Fantashia Dickens, Purchasing Division with The City of Rocky Mount. The project name and RFP number, as well as the name, address, and license number of the Bidder must be plainly marked on the outside of the envelope The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality. The City will not discriminate against any bidder submitting a bid because of race, creed, color, national origin, or handicap. The Contractor that is recommended for award of the contract shall be responsible for supplying a notarized E-Verify affidavit before award of the contract if one is not on file with the City of Rocky Mount Purchasing Office. The project includes the following major items: train track/rain supply & installation, fencing removal and installation, earthwork, drainage infrastructure, fencing, etc. Bidders must conform to the provisions of the North Carolina Contractor's Licensing Act of 1925, as amended. A Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid must accompany each Bid of $500,000.00 or more. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond will be required from the successful bidder or any bids $300,000.00 or more. Project plans prepared by Dewberry Engineers, Inc., and unit price schedule outline the estimated quantities for the required work. All work shall be done in accordance with City of Rocky Mount and NCDOT Standard Specifications, current version.
