Renovation of a mixed-use development in Freehold, New Jersey. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a library; and municipal facility.
The intent of this project is to develop final construction documents and provide construction administration phase services for the installation of emergency generators at Highway District Buildings 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8, the Western Branch Library, and the Veterans Memorial Building. The scope of this project is for the services of an engineering firm to develop construction documents for the installation of emergency generators and associated equipment at Highway District Buildings 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8, the Western Branch Library, and the Veterans Memorial Building. The designated locations are as follows: o Highway District 1 - 218 East Road, Middletown, NJ 07718 o Highway District 3 - 1160 Pine Brook Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07724 o Highway District 4 - 2060 Hospital Road, Wall, NJ 07727 o Highway District 5 - 383 Cranberry Road, Farmingdale, NJ 07727 o Highway District 7 - 231 County Route 539, Cream Ridge, NJ 08514 o Highway District 8 - 1621 Union Avenue, Hazlet, NJ 07730 o Western Branch Library - 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan, NJ 07726 o Veterans Memorial Building - 50 E. Main Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 These new systems will provide uninterrupted power to each facility during utility service disruptions. Most Highway District buildings only have portable generators they can depend on in case of emergency. Existing generators, where available, are either undersized or outdated. The new generators for the Veterans Memorial, Western Branch Library, and Highway District buildings must be adequately sized to support all electrical loads effectively. A back-up outdoor closed transition generator on concrete pads surrounded by protective concrete encased steel bollards, and associated equipment are needed for each site. Natural gas generators are preferred but if not possible due to size then diesel generators are acceptable. An evaluation and recommendation to replace or keep existing electrical equipment is required as part of this service. If possible, place the automatic transfer switch ("ATS") and any other new electrical equipment indoors. The Western Branch Library has some Federal Pacific electrical panels inside the building. A complete survey will be needed and the final design to replace these panels will be part of this scope. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
