It is the responsibility of each prospective proposer to download all proposal documents for review before submitting a proposal. Any Addenda will be posted on online Procurement. Information on online Procurement may change without notice to prospective proposers. The Contract Documents shall supersede any information posted or transmitted by online Procurement. The City of Monterey ("City") is seeking proposals from qualified firms or individuals to provide Building Inspector, Permit Technician/Administrative Assistant and Plan Check services. The City is a charter city located in the County of Monterey. The City of Monterey Community Development Department includes five disciplines: planning, building, housing, property management and sustainability. Under the direction of the Community Development Director, the Chief of Inspection Services/Building Official oversees daily operations of the Building and Safety Division. In this office, the City anticipates periodic vacancies due to vacations, illness, retirement, promotions and other similar reasons. Question Deadline - 04/14/2025 at 5:00 PM P - Question Response Deadline: April 16, 2025, 5:00pm. The City desires to contract with an outside firm or individual to perform building inspection duties, provide onsite or remote plan check services, and counter staff to issue permits and route plans on an as-needed basis. The contract term shall be for 1year with 4 options to extend. The selected organization/persons will provide the full range of building inspection, plan checking and permit issuance services. Construction in the City of Monterey includes, but is not limited to residential, commercial, office (general and medical) and mixed-use. The Building Inspector and Plans Examiner should have knowledge of all required codes and accessibility requirements. Appendix A of the Request for Proposals ("RFP") (See Attachment) is a list of major work tasks to be accomplished as part of the scope of work. The proposer is asked to define the approach and the specific scope of work and methodology to achieve the objectives presented in this RFP. The proposer should include a refined scope of work by developing a detailed description of all project tasks, both those suggested in this RFP and any changes, additions or recommendations proposed. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
