INTRODUCTION The Kent County Purchasing Division is soliciting quotations for the conversion of one (1) 57 1/2 x 97-inch pane of glass and Tubelite storefront frame and installation of one (1) egress door and four (4) sets of vestibule doors located at 300 Monroe Avenue NW Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Inquiries Deadline Date & Time (local) 4/15/2025, 2 PM Any and all communication regarding this Solicitation shall be on the Kent County Purchasing Division Inquiry Blog via the Bid Opportunities page or during pre-proposal meetings. Kent County reserves the right to determine the response format or not respond, at its sole discretion. CONSTRUCTION All work is to be done in a first-class workmanlike manner. All debris (packing materials, replaced materials, etc.) are to be cleaned up and removed by the workers. The scope of the project includes, but is not limited to; Option 1: o Remove one (1) - 57 1/2 x 97-inch pane of glass and Tubelite storefront frame to incorporate a new 36 - inch egress door with a side-lite. (owner will be responsible for the radiant heat relocation) o Install Hydraulic door closer o Install weather stripping. o Install threshold plate. o Install Push bar to exit no handle or key to the exterior. o Add alternate pricing for alarmed rim panics exit device. Option 2: o Removal of two (2) - 30 x 96-inch Tubelite storefront doors and replace with new 36 - inch doors with side-lite to fill left over opening space X four (4) o Remove and seal off 1 in-floor door closer on exterior door. (new door is a single door) X two (2) o Replace or reinstall magnetic lock on exterior door. X two (2) o Install new hydraulic door closer on interior door. X two (2) o Price and recommend to reuse, replace, or alter in-floor door closer on exterior door. X two (2) o Install new push bar and pull handle on interior door. X two (2) o Install new push bar and lock/handle on exterior door. X two (2) o Install new threshold X four (4) General Notes: o Match all existing finishes for Tubelite aluminum frames. o Match existing glass. o All new work must meet ADA Standards, as necessary. o New door hardware is TBD with awarded vendor. o Work is to be performed M-F, hours are adjustable. o Vendor to maintain a clean work environment. o Recommend any ideas that may be helpful to create a better system The successful Respondent is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses so that the completed work complies with all applicable codes, ordinances, regulations, standards, and laws. The cost of such permits and licenses is understood to be a part of the bid price. Any fines, fees, or other costs taxed or charged to Kent County because of the successful bidder's violation(s) of any laws, standards, etc. will be paid by the successful bidder.
