The County of Northampton, Virginia, is accepting sealed bids for the construction of an approximately 3,000 LF 8-inch ductile iron water main along the west side of Courthouse Road (Business Route 13) within the state maintained right-of-way, including various service connections and the abandonment of an existing 4" water main. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bidding. All bidders are subject to and must comply with the provisions of Northampton County's Equal Employment Opportunity Policy and applicable State and Federal anti-discrimination laws. The successful contractor shall be responsible for the turnkey construction of a new 8-inch water main in accordance with the plans and accompanying technical specifications. The project is described, in general, as a linear development project consisting of the installation of approximately 3,025 +/- linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron pipe water main within the VDOT right-of-way (both under the road and along the shoulder of the road), various service connections, accommodations for future service connections, tying into existing water mains at each end of the new pipeline and the abandonment of an existing 4" water main . All work at this project shall be performed within the project limits as agreed to with the Developer at the pre-construction meeting or as designated on the documents.
