Reference Number 0000381994 Delivery Point: Mead, Colorado The Town of Mead is requesting proposals from landscape architecture (LA) firms to design enhancements at several new prominent roundabout locations within the Town. The first two include the proposed Town gateway at the CR 34 & Interstate 25 interchange. This interchange is undergoing significant reconstruction as part of the Colorado Department of Transportation's (CDOT's) I-25 Express Lane Expansion Project. The improved interchange will feature roundabouts on CR 34 at both the northbound and southbound on/off ramps. Future roundabout locations are anticipated at the intersections of High Plains Boulevard (CR 9.5) and CR 32 and CR 34 which will be constructed by Weld County in the coming year. Three additional roundabouts are planned by developers on CR 7 north of SH 66, at CR 7 and CR 28, and CR 34 west of I-25. The intent is to hire one firm to provide unified design services as each of these locations advance to construction over the next 1-3 years. The goal of this project is to create artistic gateway features within the roundabouts that reflect Mead's welcoming, small-town character and provide a memorable first impression for travelers. Teams will be selected based on their qualifications and submission materials. It is anticipated that the LA firm would assist with the selection of a public artist and incorporate art into the overall landscape designs. The successful firm will demonstrate the skills, experience, and resources necessary to deliver high-quality results on schedule and within budget. Collaboration with Town staff is essential, as the firm will work closely with Meads team to ensure the project aligns with community goals and branding while delivering lasting value to residents and visitors alike.
