SCOPE OF WORK, OPERATIONAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS AND GUIDANCE TAXIWAY J REHABILITATION AND TAXIWAY K RECONSTRUCTION This document covers work at the Kansas City International Airport relating to the Taxiway J Rehabilitation and Taxiway K Reconstruction project. This Construction Safety & Phasing Plan (CSPP) addresses Operational Safety on the Airport. The Contractor shall be responsible for the individual safety of his/her personnel. The Airport, nor the Construction Management Team or Engineer, assumes responsibility for the individual safety of contractor personnel. 29 CFR Part 1926 addresses personal safety and health requirements required by OSHA. The Contractor is solely responsible for assuring compliance with 29 CFR Part 1926. The Contractor shall provide a full-time safety professional to manage the Contractor’s safety efforts, as defined in the project Specification Section 40-05. Upon notification of award, the Contractor shall prepare and submit to the airport for approval no later than 10 days prior to the scheduled pre-construction conference a Safety Plan Compliance Document (SPCD) tailored for this project in accordance with FAA AC 150/5370-2G as defined in the project Specifications Section 50-04. This CSPP, the Contractor’s approved safety plan, and SPCD are to be entered in the project documents. No construction activities shall be allowed to begin until the airport has approved the Contractor’s SPCD. This project also includes associated drainage and pavement markings in conformance with FAA standards. The project for the Taxiway J Rehabilitation and Taxiway K Reconstruction could commence as early as the Fall of 2025 and Spring of 2026, if early funding is available. Prior to the start of construction of this project, a meeting will be held with the Contractors for all active projects to facilitate coordination for the use of the storage area and borrow area and to discuss any other topics to be considered
