This Request for Bids ("RFB") involves all necessary labor, tools, equipment, material, and services to construct new continuous grit removal systems at four (4) existing Aerated Grit Chambers and miscellaneous upgrades and repairs to the Headworks Valve Chamber, Influent Channels, Effluent Channel, and Grit Chamber Control Building. This work consists of installing a center bridge platform, hydraulically actuated screw conveyors, grit slurry pumping system, and grit classifiers; the construction of a new Grit Washing Building; concrete repairs; process air blower replacement; utilities replacement and relocation; coating piping and equipment; installing FRP tank covers and odor control systems; and electrical and instrumentation integration for new equipment. Each Bidder must submit with its Bid, Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond executed by the Principal and Surety Company Attorney in Fact and witnessed to and attested with an appropriate Power of Attorney attached, or a cashier's check, or treasurer's check or certified check or money order made payable to the order of the Treasurer, Middlesex County Utilities Authority and in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Bid price, not to exceed $20,000.00. The contract bond(s) for this RFB includes the following and must be from a surety company acceptable to the Authority and satisfying the requirements of the RFB: - Performance and Payment Bond - General Maintenance Bond - Environmental Maintenance Bond The Successful Bidder will be required to present to the Authority the approved contract bonds duly executed and be prepared to execute the Contract within twenty-one (21) days of the date of receipt of the Notice of Contract Award.
