Site work, asbestos abatement and renovation of an educational facility in New York, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; and for asbestos abatement for a educational facility.
College of Staten Island Main Pump House Rehabilitation and Associated Asbestos Abatement - General Construction. The Project consists of all labor, equipment and materials for: replacement of the existing pumps with three dry-pit submersible pumps; installation of two new grinders in the influent channel and new stop plates; installation of new emergency bypass connections; temporary bypass piping and pumps; replacement of the suction and discharge piping and valves; miscellaneous architectural and structural improvements; installation of new VFDs; installation of electrical distribution equipment; lighting improvements; HVAC improvements; plumbing improvements and miscellaneous site improvements. There is assumed ACM at the gaskets on the wastewater piping. Contractor shall have a minimum of ten years of experience installing substantially similar equipment, especially dry pit submersible pumps, channel grinders, and large diameter valves and piping. Contractor shall be able to show evidence of at least five installations in satisfactory operation. References and evidence of experience shall be provided if requested by the Owner. The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York ("DASNY") has determined that its interest in obtaining the best work at the lowest possible price, preventing favoritism, fraud and corruption, and other considerations such as the impact of delay, the possibility of cost savings advantages and any local history of labor unrest are best met by use of a Project Labor Agreement ("PLA") on this Project. The successful low bidder, as a condition of being awarded this Contract, will be required to execute the PLA described in the Information for Bidders and included in the Contract Documents. See Section 18.0 of the Information for Bidders of the Contract Documents for additional information. All subcontractors of every tier will be required to agree to be bound by the PLA.
