Renovation of a municipal facility in Champaign, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
As of May 2, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Project includes the renovation ot the men's and women's restrooms as well as converting an existing storage room into a private office. This work includes upgrading the men's and women's restrooms to meet ADA compliance, replacement of finishes, fixtures, lighting, and exhaust fans. Bid documents are available online. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. The general scope work of the project is defined by the contract documents and consist of the following: upgrades to existing staff toilet rooms and conversion of storage into office space, which includes new finished, toilet accessories, door hardware, electrical and lighting upgrades, and plumbing alterations as indicated in the drawings and specified herein. 2. Remediation of asbestos containing floor tile. 3. Alternate Bids: - None Up to (2) complete sets of bidding documents are available to PRE-QUALIFIED BIDDERS (NO PLANROOMS) for a $150 Refundable deposit check OR non-cash deposit plan per set, made payable to Bailey Edward Design (include the name of the job in the reference line). There are two sets of diversity goals in place for this project: (1) A utilization goal of 10% MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) and 5% WBE (Woman Business Enterprise). Utilization goals refer to the percentage of work performed by MBE or WBE subcontractors on the project. (2) A workforce participation goal of 20% MBE and 15% WBE. Workforce participation goals refer to the percentage of minority and female individuals employed on a project. Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable form of Bid Guaranty in an amount equal to at least TEN PERCENT (10%), as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute the contract and all other Contract Documents and file acceptable contract bond and proof of insurance within fourteen (14) days after the award of the contract and prior to commencement of work. The City of Champaign, Illinois, reserves the right to reject any or all bids or portions thereof and to waive any formality or technicality in any bids in the interest of the City. The criteria for selection of the lowest responsible bidder are set forth in Section 12.5-38 of the Champaign Municipal Code, 1985, as amended and the bid documents. To the extent required by law, the contractor shall comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, the Veteran's Preference Act, the Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act, the City's Equal Opportunity in Purchasing Ordinance and the Illinois Human Rights Act. If federal funds are used to finance this project, the contractor shall comply with the Davis-Bacon Act.
