Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in East Granby, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The project consists of the construction of new 5' wide concrete sidewalks within the town campus along Center Street, Veterans Memorial Drive, and portions of South Main Street and Turkey Hill Road. The project includes landscaping, striping, and pedestrian facilities including accessible ramps. There will be several connections to existing concrete and asphalt sidewalks. The work also consists of replacement of an existing gravel parking connection path with a bituminous pathway. The foregoing is a general description only and shall not be construed as a complete description of the Work to be performed for this Project. Bid security in the amount of five (5) percent of the bid must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the Project bid cost. The attention of bidders is called to the requirements of non-discrimination in employment practices, conditions of employment, and prevailing wage rates to be paid. The Town of East Granby will not knowingly conduct business with providers of goods or services that are known to discriminate. In the event that the Town of East Granby requires more than ninety (90) calendar days after the actual date of the receipt of Bids and the selected, qualified Bidder does not grant an extension of time, the Town reserves the right to award the Contract to another qualified Bidder who does grant an extension of time to award. State law requires a minimum of 25 percent of the state-funded portion of the contract for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services ("DAS") under the provisions of CONN. GEN STAT. 4a-60g. as amended. (25% of the work with DAS certified Small and Minority owned businesses and 25% of that work with DAS certified Minority, Women and/or Disabled owned businesses.) The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, to award any items, group of items or total bid, and to waive any informality or technical defects, if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of East Granby. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids pursuant to Section 16 of Connecticut Special Act No. 77-98, as amended.
