Site work and paving for a road / highway in Monte Sereno, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

In general, the FY24-25 Citywide Pavement Rehabilitation Project consists of slurry seal, grinding of existing pavement, performing digout repairs, tree root removal, installing hot mix asphalt, adjusting manholes, valves, boxes, and monument covers, installation of poles on new foundation, new signs, delineators, and installation of pavement striping and markings on new and existing pavements. Bids shall be valid for a period of 90 calendar days after the Bid opening date. Engineer's Estimate: $273,000 for the Base Bid, $110,000 for Add Alternate Bid A. Contract Time: Contract time is established as FOURTEEN (14) calendar days. The Contractor will be allowed an additional eight (8) calendar days if the additive alternate bid item is added to the project. If no additive alternate is awarded, no additional days will be allowed. Calendar days will be counted upon the Contractor's receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Any work remaining incomplete after the specified period shall subject the Contractor to pay liquidated damages to the City of One Thousand Dollars ($1000) per day. Contractor's License Classification and Subcontractors: Unless otherwise provided in the Instructions for Bidders, each Bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to sections 7000 et seq. of the Business and Professions Code in the following classifications) throughout the time it submits its Bid and for the duration of the contract: Class A General Engineering Contractor's License. Bid Bond: Pursuant to California Public Contract Code Section 20170, each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid security in the form of cash, cahiers or certified check, or bidder's bond made payable to the "City of Monte Sereno" for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the Bid Amount and no bid shall be considered unless such security is enclosed therewith. The posted bid security shall be forfeited to the City if the bidder does not enter into a contract within ten (10) calendar days after notice of award. Prevailing Wages: The work contemplated by this contract is a public work subject to prevailing wages under California Labor Code Section 1770 et. seq. The successful bidder will be required to pay not less than the prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the California Department of Industrial Relations in effect on the bid submittal date.
