Site work and paving for a civil project in Bettendorf, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

The proposed improvements consist of full-depth concrete patching, utility structure repairs and adjustments, and other work associated with the replacement of approximately 6,200 square yards of existing pavement along various streets within the City of Bettendorf, Iowa. Work (Approximately 482 square yards) on U.S. Highway 67 (State St. and Grant St.), shall be completed after July 1, 2025. All work on this contract shall be completed by October 31, 2025. These completion dates will be included in and made part of the contract between the successful bidder and the City. Liquidated damages in the amount of Five Hundred Dollars and no/100 ($500.00) per calendar day shall be charged for every day past the completion date. The bidder to whom the Contract is awarded shall commence work no later than the date to begin work set forth in a Notice to Proceed, issued by the City, or its authorized representative, to the Contractor at the preconstruction meeting. All work shall be done in strict compliance with the plans and specifications prepared by the Engineer of the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department of Bettendorf, Iowa. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States or by a Bid Bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the City of Bettendorf in the amount of ten (10) percent of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Bettendorf, Iowa, and may be cashed or claim made against the bond by the Treasurer of the City of Bettendorf, Iowa, as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within ten (10) days and post bond satisfactory to the City for the faithful performance of the work. Checks or Bid Bonds of the three lowest bidders may be retained for a period of not to exceed thirty (30) days or until a contract is awarded or rejection is made, whichever is sooner. Other checks and Bid Bonds will be returned after the tabulation of the bids is completed. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and maintenance bond equal to One Hundred Percent (100%) of the contract price. Said bond is to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement for a period of four (4) years from and after its completion and acceptance by the City. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technicalities and irregularities if deemed necessary and approved by City Council.
