Site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a mixed-use development in Sioux City, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for outdoor lighting for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; road / highway; and water / sewer project.

The project is located on Fairmount Street from Leech Avenue to the south side of Gordon Drive and includes the replacement of an existing 10-inch watermain with a new 12-inch watermain. This project also includes the replacement of sanitary sewer brick manholes, 48-inch storm sewer, and street lights; paving will be replaced full street width along with new sidewalks. Site Directions: The project is located on Fairmount Street from Leech Avenue to the south side of Gordon Drive. Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. This project has three (3) sites. Site 00 is the Overall Project and has a late start date of June 9, 2025. Work on Site 00 shall be completed within 100 Working Days. Site 01 is all work affecting the outside eastbound lane closure on Gordon Drive and has a late start date of June 9, 2025. Work on Site 01 shall be completed within 20 Working Days. Site 02 has an early start date of September 2, 2025 and a late start date of September 15, 2025. Work on Site 02 shall be completed within 5 Working Days. Working Days will be charged for Site 00 (Overall Project) when work is being completed in Site 01 and/or Site 02. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, re-advertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. A pre-bid meeting will not be held for this project The work was performed on S Fairmount Street between Gordon Drive and Leach Avenue in Sioux City, Iowa. At the time of drilling, the surface material at the boring locations consisted of a 6-inch asphalt overlay over 4-inch concrete pavement. A granular base was not encountered below the pavement. The surface at the boring locations was firm at the time of our site visit and the drill rig did not experience difficulty moving around the boring locations. The Contractor shall perform everything required to be performed and shall provide and furnish all of the labor, materials, necessary tools, expendable equipment and complete in a workmanlike manner all the work required in connection with the construction of the Fairmount Street Watermain Replacement Project, Leech Avenue to Gordon Drive in Sioux City, Iowa, all in strict accordance with the 2025 version of the Iowa Statewide Urban Design and Specifications (SUDAS), as further modified by the 2024 version of the Sioux City Supplement to SUDAS, and Special Provisions included in said contract documents; and in strict compliance with the Contractor's bid and the other contract documents herein mentioned which are a part of this Contract; and the Contractor shall do everything required by this Contract and the other documents constituting a part thereof. All questions about the meaning or intent of the bidding documents shall be submitted to the Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda, via the contact information provided on the plan holder's list. Questions received less than seven (7) days prior to the date for opening bids may not be answered. Only answers issued by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect.
