Reference Number 0000382981 The University of Utah (U Facilities) is requesting bids for the following project Moran Eye Center Clinic Expansion The University is entering into a Multi-Step Bidding Process for Construction Services. A short-listing of Contractors will be based on the evaluation of proposals submitted and the selection criteria outlined in the solicitation documents contained herein. Short-listed Contractors will be invited to submit bids on the project. The only Contractors allowed to bid on this project will be Contractors short-listed by the selection committee. All Contractors responding to this procurement must comply with and require all of their Subcontractors to comply with the license laws as required by the State of Utah. The University of Utah reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any formality or technicality in any bid in the interest of the University. Question Acceptance Deadline 04/25/2025 06:00 PM EDT Questions are submitted online Yes Bonding Requirements - Bid Bond 5 % - Performance Bond 100 % - Payment Bond 100 % Pricing No Pricing Construction Cost Estimate: $1,561,900.00 The proposed construction schedule for Phase 2 is to begin June 2025 and complete the Clinic by December 2025. Project Description/Base Bid: Construct new clinic on Level 1 of the Moran Eye Center. Remodel shall include the following: (7) Exam Rooms, (6) Work-up rooms, (3) testing rooms, (2) Offices, Check out desk, sub-wait, Remodel existing optical shop, reconfigure Lab and Contact Lens area. Each room or space will be fitted with required finishes, equipment, furniture, cabinets, power, data, mechanical, and plumbing constant with University hospital standards. Gross Area of Remodel = 4,750 Sq.Ft. See attachment for proposed project scope. Duration, Schedule and Phasing: Phase 1 is currently under construction, building out 3 offices in the South building and update finishes and electrical in the new Waiting Room space. The work is being performed by the University Hospital Construction teams and is anticipated to complete on May 12. (NOT in scope) Phase 2 of the project is the Clinic Expansion/Optical Shop scope of work. Demolition of the existing offices can begin once the current occupants move into the completed Phase 1. It is requested that the contractor complete the Optical Shop, Lab and Contact Lens space ahead of the Clinic portion of the work. This would allow the Optical Shop to move back in and be fully functional with a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy until the final Certificate of Occupancy can be obtained for the Clinic Expansion project. Last questions are due on Friday, May 30, 2025.
