Site work and paving for a road / highway in Marengo, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
A complete removal and resurfacing of all parking lots and a majority of our perimeter roadway took place in the summer of 2024. The thickness of our total asphalt is roughly 3.5 inches, with about a 1.5 inch surface layer and a 2.0 inch binder (this will vary in some of the perimeter road depths). Finished asphalt to support our bus and heavy truck traffic was a hot-mix asphalt (ASTM D 8) surface course N50, with the exception of the roadways, perimeter, and Circle Drive in which we opted to utilize an N70 mix. The binder utilized was an N50 mix, with an aggregate base of IDOT CA-6 and a limit of no more than 20% natural sand. Approximate square footage of all of the areas in which a complete removal and resurfacing is included, however. sealcoating and optional bid for asphalt rejuvenation. The Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or waive any technicalities of the bid process.
