GENERAL Classification and Scope Classification: This specification covers a contract for cold-water meters ranging in sizes 5/8" x 1/2" to 2". All water meter registers will be an absolute encoder design and have glass lens and copper or stainless steel case, capable of providing electronically encoded meter information to meet the City's current and future water meter data needs. Except as otherwise modified or supplemented herein, the latest revision of AWWA Standard C700 "AWWA Standard for Cold Water Meters - Displacement Type" and AWWA Manual M6 shall govern the materials, design, construction, manufacture and testing of all meters furnished under this specification. Standard flows apply. The enclosed REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) and accompanying SPECIFICATIONS are for your convenience in bidding the enclosed referenced WATER METERS for the City of Sherman. Rusk Street Sherman, TX 903-892-7215 craigl@cityofsherman.com. DELIVERY The City reserves the right to demand bond or penalty to guarantee delivery by the date indicated. If order is given and the Bidder fails to furnish the materials by the guaranteed date, the City reserves the right to cancel the order without liability on its part. All prices are to be F.O.B. Sherman, Texas all freight prepaid. Until final award of the Contract, the city reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive technicalities, and to re-advertise for new bids, or proposed to do the work otherwise in the best interests of the City. REJECTION OF BIDS The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive technicalities at its option when in the best interests of said City. Bids will be considered irregular if they show any omissions, alteration of form, additions, or conditions not called for, unauthorized alternate bids or irregularities of any kind. However, the City reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to make the award in the best interests of the City.
