Site work for a water / sewer project in Guadalupe, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The work involves completely removing existing interior coatings and recoating the interior of the City of Guadalupe 1.6 MG welded steel tank at 303 Obispo Street (Tank #1). The tank is approximately 100 feet in diameter and 35 feet tall. The work also involves rehabilitating the roof access hatch and cover, demolishing and replacing existing check valves, and other items as specified in the Contract Documents. WORK SCHEDULE: Work must be completed within 50 working days from the Notice to Proceed. Notice to Proceed will be issued 4 weeks after the award of the contract, whichever comes first. BONDS: Each proposal must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or bidder's bond of the prescribed form and made payable to the City of Guadalupe for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, such guaranty to be forfeited, should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to furnish the required bonds and to enter into a contract with the City within ten (10) days after awarding of the contract. The successful contractor will be required to furnish three (3) acceptable surety bonds: one for faithful performance, one for labor and materials, and the other for maintenance following construction. Each bond is to be executed in a sum equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price except that the maintenance bond shall be for ten percent (10%) of the contract price and shall remain in effect for one year following acceptance of the project for final payment. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: In accordance with provisions of California Public Contract Code Section 3300, the City has determined that the Contractor shall possess a valid Class C33 license at the time of award. The Contractor shall be properly licensed at the time the contract is awarded. No contract will be awarded from a Contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 9 of Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code. The right is reserved by the City of Guadalupe to reject any or all Bids, to evaluate the Bids submitted, waive any minor irregularities, and award the contract to the lowest responsible Bidder. The City further reserves the right to waive any informalities or minor irregularities in the Bid.
