Renovation of a transportation facility in Traverse City, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.

This project will provide a full light fixture replacement and lighting controls upgrade throughout the entire terminal building. This project includes all areas of the building interior, exterior, and apron lighting at the aircraft parking positions. The terminal building is approximately 120,000 square feet and is presently illuminated using various lighting sources that include metal halide, high pressure sodium, incandescent, fluorescent, and compact fluorescent fixtures. The fixtures are all over 20 years old and the existing lighting controls system has not worked properly for several years. The new lighting control system will have the ability to accommodate the future terminal expansion and integrate any future lighting. Several of the existing fixtures are custom fixtures that were produced specifically for this building. There will be selective re-lamping with the custom fixtures. The copper plated decorative wall sconces (interior and exterior) will not be replaced or re-lamped. The wall decorative wall sconces will be connected to the new lighting control system. Included in this is the exterior building mounted lighting, drop-off covered canopy lighting, and adjacent pole mounted lighting. The airport has already conducted an LED upgrade pilot project, and these fixture specifications will be utilized where applicable within this project. The project shall be complete and ready for final inspection within Two Hundred (200) calendar days from the effective date of Notice-to-Proceed. Doc note: Fee for bidding online is $42.00. The project is expected to be completed by December 14, 2025. The contract time for this project will be Two Hudnred (200) calendar days. Project time can be stopped for material ordering, but contractor shall complete the work once started. This item shall include direct costs to the Contractor involving safety of aircraft, on-site surface transportation, and the general public in accordance with General Provisions Section 70-08, which costs are not directly attributable to, or specified as incidental to, other contract pay items. This item shall include, but is not limited to: furnishing, installing, maintaining, moving and removing of all necessary temporary signs, flags, flag-persons, gate guards, barricades, lights, markings, and any additional traffic control devices, to protect air traffic in active air operations areas, surface transportation in contract areas, operations and vehicle identification devices, providing security of Contractor's areas and openings within the boundaries of the Cherry Capital Airport, and other similar costs.
