City of Wewahitchka Water Main Replacement Question Deadline 05/13/2025 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. . Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. 1. Jehu Road: The proposed project along Jehu Road will be replacing an existing 4" water main with an 8 water main. The project also includes running a new 6 main down Oliver Drive and a new 4 main down Dorsey Drive. There will be approximately 3112 LF of 8 DR18 PVC, 60 LF of 8 DR11 HDPE, 667 LF of 6 DR18 PVC, 31 LF of 6 DR11 HDPE, & 991 LF of 4 DR18 PVC installed for the project. Additionally, there will be four new 6 fire hydrant assemblies and two 2 flushing valves. Two existing 6 fire hydrant assemblies will be reused. The existing water laterals that are not PVC material will be replaced up to existing meters and the existing meters will be used to service the residences. 2. Lake Avenue: The proposed project along Lake Avenue will be replacing an existing 6" ductile iron water main with a new 6 PVC water main. There will be approximately 562 LF of 6 DR18 PVC installed for the project. The project will include two new 6 fire hydrant assemblies. The existing water laterals and meters will be used with minor lateral extensions as required to service the existing connections. 3. East River Road: The proposed project along East River Road will be replacing an existing 6" water main with a new 6 water main. There will be approximately 707 LF of 6 DR18 PVC and 18 LF of 6 DR11 HDPE installed for the project. The project will include two new 6 fire hydrant assemblies. The existing water laterals and meters will be used for the connections along the North side of East River Road. New laterals will be bored under the existing road for the connections along the south side of East River Road. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. This Bid and the award hereof are also subject to all provisions of the Purchasing Policy of the City of Wewahitchka. To the extent of any conflict between these documents and the City's Purchasing Policy, the provisions of the City's Purchasing Policy will control. Completion date for this project will be 120 days (Substantial Completion) and 150 days (Final Completion) from the date of the Notice to Proceed presented to the successful bidder. Liquidated damages for failure to complete the project on the specified date will be set at $500.00 per day All bids shall remain firm for a period of sixty days after the opening. All bidders shall comply with all applicable State and local laws concerning licensing registration and regulations of contractors doing business in the State of Florida. The City of Wewahitchka reserves the right to waive informalities in any bid, to accept and/or reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that, in their judgement, will be in the best interest to the City of Wewahitchka.
