Demolition and site work for a residential development in Bethel, Vermont. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
*As of June 25, 2025, project was awarded to JM Construction, awarded amount is $34,500 but unable to locate the company both in CRM and Google. Demolition will include removal of all extant structures on the property, abatement of any asbestos (note: an asbestos inspection has been completed and none were detected), removal of all impervious structures (driveway), disconnection of any utilities, capping the well at least 1 foot below grade, crushing in place of the existing septic system, and grading and seeding of the land. The structure to be demolished is a multi-story residence with an attached garage built in 1840. Demolition equipment will be staged on the existing driveway and side yards away from the nearby Locust Creek. Upon completion of the demolition the property will be maintained in perpetuity as an open, green space. Contractors must provide documentation of sedimentation and erosion control management measures, practices, and devices, such as phased construction, vegetated filter strips, geotextile silt fences, or other devices, which shall be installed and properly maintained to reduce erosion and retain sediment on-site during and after demolition per FEMA regulation. All work on the project must be completed within thirty (30) calendar days of the Notice to Proceed. If additional time is required for any reason, including weather delays and delays caused by the community, the State, or FEMA, the Contractor must provide a written request for extension, which then must be approved by the Town of Barnard.
