construction of the project, as described in the construction documents. The project is located at the Tyson Events Center, 401 Gordon Drive and includes the replacement of a portion of the exterior lighting at the south facade of the Tyson Events Center with new color changing lighting and associated controls. The existing Tyson Events Center roof heat tape system at the eastern side of the roof will be replaced with a new ice melt / heat tape system. The work on this project shall begin upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed and be fully completed by August 22, 2025. Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, readvertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. All questions about the meaning or intent of the bidding documents shall be submitted to the Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda, via the contact information provided on the plan holder's list. Questions received less than seven (7) days prior to the date for opening bids may not be answered. Only answers issued by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect The Contractor shall perform everything required to be performed and shall provide and furnish all of the labor, materials, necessary tools, expendable equipment and complete in a workmanlike manner all the work required in connection with the construction of the Tyson Events Center Lighting and Heat Tape Project in Sioux City, Iowa, all in strict accordance with the contract documents; and in strict compliance with the Contractor's bid and the other contract documents herein mentioned which are a part of this Contract; the Contractor shall do everything required by this Contract and the other documents constituting a part thereof.
