Renovation of a mixed-use development in Hayward, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
State of California, is seeking bids for Painting at the Tyrrell Project, located at 27211 Tyrrell Avenue, in the City of Hayward. Scope of Work: Prep, patch and paint 10 classrooms, entire hallway, hallway doors (int/ext.) and restrooms. o Surface Cleaning: Clean all surfaces to remove dust, dirt, grease, and other debris from all surfaces prior to painting. o Protective Coverings: Cover floors, furniture, and any non-paintable surfaces with drop cloths or plastic sheeting to prevent paint splatters. o Removal of Fixtures: Remove or protect light fixtures, electrical outlets, switch plates, and any other hardware. Reinstall upon completion of work. Surface Preparation: o Sanding: Sand rough spots, peeling paint, and uneven surfaces to ensure smooth adhesion of new paint. o Patching & Filling: Repair any holes, cracks, or damage in the walls and ceiling using appropriate fillers. Once dry, sand smooth. o Priming: Apply a suitable primer to ensure better paint adhesion, especially on patched areas or previously unpainted surfaces. Painting: o Wall Painting: Apply two coats of wall paint (if necessary) using a roller or brush to ensure smooth and uniform coverage. o Trim & Baseboard Painting: Paint any baseboards, window frames, or other trim with an appropriate finish for durability and aesthetic appeal. Drying & Touch-ups: o Allow adequate drying time between coats. o Inspect the finished surface and perform touch-ups to ensure uniformity and coverage. 6. Materials and Supplies: o Paint: Sherwin Williams: Pro-Mar 200 o Color Sherwin Williams Pro-Mar 200 Aesthetic white o Wall = Eggshell o Wood surfaces = Semi-Gloss Color TBD (shelves, wainscoted, doors etc...) o Primer: [Type of primer] for surface preparation. o Paint Tools: Brushes, rollers, trays, drop cloths, masking tape, ladders, sandpaper, and other necessary tools. o Protective Gear: Gloves, masks, and safety glasses for the workers. NOTES: o All built in wood bookshelves to be prepped and painted. Except for the tall shelves in room 11. o Wood walls in hallway or classrooms to be prepped and painted. Same color but semi-gloss. o Classroom 13 will need tack board replacement. o Remove ALL tv and map mounts. Patch and prep as needed. o Remove all staples in tack walls. o Remove anything on or secured to walls designated with blue painter's tape. Requests for Information related to this RFB must be submitted in writing via email to Charity Hastings chastings@acoe.org, no later than 11 am on Monday, April 28, 2025. Responses to all questions received will be posted on the District's website, and e-mailed to all vendors who attend the mandatory job walk, no later than Thursday, May 1, 2025 @ 2pm. Each submitted bid must conform and be responsive to the requirements set forth in this RFB. The County reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in received submittals. Further, the County reserves the right to reject any and all submittals and to negotiate contract terms with one or more respondent vendors for one or more of the work items. The County reserves the right to accept, reject or modify any or all bids, alternate bids, or unit price, in whole or in part, or waive any formalities, technical defect, clerical error, or irregularity in any proposal received, and to be the sole judge of the responsibility of any respondent and of the suitability of the equipment, supplies, and/or services offered. All responses shall be valid for 120 days after the bid opening date. Tentative construction schedule: a. Start Date: On or about May 19th, 2025 b. Completion Date: June, 13th, 2025
